The Eurosystem has a clear interest in establishing relations with accession countries and in being involved, in its areas of exclusive or shared competence, in the process aimed at EU accession and, eventually, at the adoption of the euro. The Eurosystem stands ready to support this process with a view to fulfilling its mandate and commitment to price stability in the euro area in a credible and lasting manner, even after enlargment.
