FINANCIAL SERVICES AUTHORITY ESTABLISHED
The Chancellor of the Exchequer, in launching the UK's new financial regulatory organisation, announced that i t is to be called the Financial Services Authority (FSA). The core of the new regulatory body is the Security and Investments Board whose name has been changed to the FSA. Over the next two years the FSA will acquire fur ther regulatory powers.
