DAIWA BANK TO SLASH ITS OVERSEAS ASSETS

Daiwa Bank will reduce its overseas assets by half within a year and curtail its overseas bond trading. Japan' s Finance Ministry ordered the changes because the bank covered up losses incurred in the late 1980s.
