JAPAN TAKES CONTROL OF NIPPON CREDIT
Nippon credit bank was declared insolvent and placed under state control, as Japanese regulators move forward in tackling the country's banking crisis. But the move, which apparently came well before financial markets ca ught on to the full extent of the bank's problems, fell short of announcing a plan for disposing of the lender 's assets.
